JR has been a paramedic for Ada County for the last 9 years. I also work for Ada County Paramedics in the Logistics Department. JR and I have known each other since middle school. He liked me in highschool, but I thought he was too goofy. We started dating our second year in college. We were married August 14th 2004 and had our little Madison July 30th 2008. Colin completed our family on October 11th, 2011.

We have had a busy couple months since we have moved into the house.  We have been busy unpacking and putting everything together, but still have a lot to do.  The main thing is to get shelves built in the garage and get the boxes up and finish putting pictures up.

Mom and Dad were down two weekends ago and will be back this next weekend.  JR had a weird episode of vertigo that landed him in the ER a month ago while he was already in the ER with a patient.  I drove in and spent the next 5 hrs with him until he was finally released after a clean angio CT.

I am amazed every day by how much Colin and Madison are growing.  I love watching the bond that they form every day.  Yesterday, we went for a 14 mile bike ride to the zoo and back and Colin fell asleep with his head resting on Madison's shoulders.

Aspen loves living out in Avimor.  He is able to go for walks off leash every weekend.  He is playful again and seems to be happy.  There's not a day that goes by that I don't think about Demon and Kelty and how much they would love it here.  Every time Mom and Dad come down I still expect to see Kelty drooling up a storm in the back of the pickup!!!

Conversation between Madison and Her Daddy

Aspen, Colin, and Madison

Coffee date with Daddy and Colin
Last night JR was putting Madison to bed when she looked at him and said " I know Colin is going to be tall like you, but am I going to be tall like you or STUBBY like Mommy."  I can't believe my little girl thinks I'm stubby!!!! I think I'd prefer petit.  When I asked her about it today she said she said stubby because she loves me!!!  I love the things that she says!  When she says her prayers at night now she ends it with "Fat fish and Bear combing his hair."  I have no idea where she gets these things!!!

We have been in our new house now for three weeks!!!  I feel like it's slowly becoming our house, but  a lot still needs to be done.  We are waiting for the weather to warm up enough for the landscaping to be done as well as the finishing touches on the outside of the house.  We are waiting for Mom and Dad to come down in the spring to bring  our new bedroom set that we got for Christmas.  I still need to hang pictures and get the garage organized, but I am amazed at how much we have achieved. It's all thanks to Mom, Dad, Mic, Mark, and Rick.  We couldn't have done it without them. JR has been working a lot not only with work, but also with hanging things and working with the sub-contractors to get things finished.  The commute isn't too bad.  When the weather is good I can get the kids dropped off to daycare and to work in less than 45 min. plus it is a beautiful drive when you can see the sky!!

Colin, Madison, and Aspen all seem to love having their own space again.  It took Aspen a while to figure out that he doesn't need permission to go in and out of the doggie door, but he's a pro at it now.  It is very nice not having to get up at night to let him in and out.  Madison and Colin are sleeping well in their own rooms and I sleep really well not sharing a room any more with children!!!  JR made the comment tonight that he loves having room in the kitchen.  He made lasagna, I made Colin a batch of baby food, and Madison worked on her Valentine's cards and we had plenty of room!!!!

Merry Christmas!!!

As the year comes to an end I will do a quick update on what has been going on with the McGee household the last three months.
We started to build a house in October and are still in the process of it. In the mean time we are living with Jr's Dad and on the days JR works me and the kids stay with Mic.  Mom and Dad took Aspen and Demon to live with them while our house is being built.  Unfortunately, the night after they got back Kelty died all of a sudden and a week later Demon was diagnosed with Lymphoma.  I flew up with the kids and had to put Demon to sleep.  It was the hardest thing I've ever done and we miss both of them deeply, but we are so glad we still have Aspen and that he will be coming home to us when our house is finished the middle of January
That pretty much catches you up to everything that has been going on with the family, but here is a quick update on Colin and Madison.

Madison:  Just had her first dance recital.  She was the cutest reindeer ever.  She is enjoying class and can't wait for her next performance.  She is also loving preschool with her teacher Ms. Marsha.  She amazes me everyday with what she has learned and many times it comes up in a cute little song.

Colin:  Turned one, has more teeth than most 18 month old.  Loves his sister, but is starting to fight back with her.  He's also going through a Mommy and Daddy phase and I am just so thankful that he has included Daddy in this phase because Madison never did.  He had been sleeping through the night for about 2 months, but with the last set of teeth/cold/ear infection he has been waking up again.  Now that we are at Mom and Dad's he is completely in love with Aspen.  He loves to rub his head on Aspen's fur :)

They are both the light of  my lives and even though it is incredibly difficult working full time and having a husband who works at least 72 hrs a week, I wouldn't change them for anything.
