JR has been a paramedic for Ada County for the last 9 years. I also work for Ada County Paramedics in the Logistics Department. JR and I have known each other since middle school. He liked me in highschool, but I thought he was too goofy. We started dating our second year in college. We were married August 14th 2004 and had our little Madison July 30th 2008. Colin completed our family on October 11th, 2011.

Grandma and Papa visit and Camping

Mom and Dad came down this weekend for a planned camping trip.  We went up to Pine Flats on Saturday morning and came back Sunday.  I had no idea when we planned the trip that we'd be in the throws of a heat wave, but we still headed out Saturday morning.  Once we set up the camp we headed down to the river to cool off.  There are a bunch of hot springs that come off of the mountain down to the river, so that the river is warmer right at the base and as you go up the hill the hot springs get hotter.

The kids did great, but you could tell the heat was getting to Colin.  He took a short nap and was up after 10 pm and Madison was awake until about 10:30 pm.  Let's just say that Colin woke up hitting Mommy and not wanting anything to do with anybody.  He did enjoy playing in the dirt and getting filthy.  Madison had fun fishing and swimming in the hot springs and river.  She never complained or whined until it was time to go.  She didn't want the camping trip to end.

OH MY GOSH.... Update

I never have the laptop and I'm not able to load pictures on the blog with my ipad, so I am so sorry I haven't updated this in awhile.  Here are a couple of pictures I have on my phone.

The kids are growing with leaps and bounds.  Colin no longer looks like a baby, but is becoming his own little man.  He still has a limited vocabulary (basically NO!  and MaMa, and bike), but he is saying Papa and DaDEE!!!  He also loves to babble and imitate his sister.  It's so cute to watch him watching Madison and then repeating what she is doing.  He loves being outside and gets really mad when he has to come in.   He's also hitting now to show his anger and he's not afraid to wrestle with Madison.  His favorite thing on earth is to swim.  We've been at our pool as much as we can and he is in the water the whole time.  Both him and Madison will be blue and shivering and we still have to drag them out.  You have to constantly be at his side because he believes he can swim and won't hesitate to leap off of the side of the pool!!!

Madison is almost 5 going on 13.  She has discovered High School Musical at Heather's house and now she talks about it non-stop.  She asked JR if we could buy it for her and he said "Absolutley not!"  She finished her first year of Pre-school and now we are trying to decide where we are going to have her go to Kindergarten.  We are also working on a respectful attitude and not so much back talk.  This mainly happens towards me or even Aunt Mic, but she's a sweet heart and does well.

I promise to take more pictures and update soon.
