Four Months

Colin had his four month check up a week ago.  Here are his statistics....

Colin rolled over for the first time tonight.  Aunt Mic was changing his diaper and he rolled over for the first time on his bed.  I think he is finally starting to feel better.  His last bit of antibiotics gave him some diarrhea, but I think it's finally kicked his ear infection.  He is also laughing and talking a lot more as well as enjoying standing up, with assistance of course.

Madison has started her sibling fighting already.  Her and Colin were laying on the bed one day and I heard her in there yelling "Colin is touching me, I don't want him to touch me." I can't believe it's already started.I've had

We are almost done with the bathroom.  JR and Rick have been working on it all week and it looks great. Hopefully tomorrow they can put the cabinet and toilet it and then all I need to do is paint the bathroom.  I am so excited to have a bathroom again.

I finally went to a podiatrist today and had my ingrown toenail removed which totally freaked me out.  The needle in the toe and then the idea of him digging around made me feel a little light headed and queasy.  I also happened to mention that my ankles have been bothering me a lot lately.  To the point that when I have sat for awhile I can barely move when I get up.  The doctor realized that I have an inch difference between my legs.  How I've gone 30 years without anybody noticing amazes me!!!! So it really is a small world.  My podiatrist is friends with our podiatrist in Coeur d 'Alene who we also babysat for 10+ years as well as maybe even having watched his kids once or twice.  What a small world :)

Crazy Mommy!!!!!

OK, Mommy is going crazy here......

We have not had a master bathroom in a month.  Our bedroom looks like it blew up and I can't get to my half of the closet.  JR works on the bathroom any free moment that he gets which is great, but I feel like I have been a single mom for the past month as well.  Seeing as he was only home two nights out of six the past week it doesn't work out to a lot of time that he can work on the bathroom.

Colin has had an ear infection in both ears for the past three weeks.  He is on his third round of antibiotics after getting a shot of antibiotics yesterday.  He has had a cold since November and now it has formed into a mild case of RSV.  Despite all of this he is still smiling and cooing more each day.

Madison is doing great.  She has such a personality that both amazes and frustrates me.  We are working on her listening skills.  She does not want to listen to Mommy right, but then she says the cutest things.  Last night she wanted to know if she needed to shut her light off for bedtime and she said "All right Mother!!!"  She also had an ear infection a week ago and she calls it an ear affection.

I hope things settle down soon and we can finally get into some routine.  The kids have been waking up at 6:30, which is a little early.  It would be nice to be able to get ready before I have to get the kids up.  I might need to start waking up at 5:30.  UGH!!!!!

About Time

I can't believe it's been a month since I last posted.  What a month we've had.  Madison had the stomach flu, I ended up with the stomach flu, Madison, JR, and Colin have all had colds, Madison and Colin have both had ear infections which ended us up at Primary Health last night; just Mommy and two screaming kids.  Thank goodness Aunt Mic was just getting off of work to help rescue Mommy before she started crying!!!!
We also thought we would be moving to Coeur d'Alene the beginning of March.  JR applied for a position at LifeFlight as a flight medic at the new base in Sandpoint and he got the job, but JR and Lifeflight were unable to agree on pay so we had to turn the job down.  It makes me so sad because I want nothing more than to move back to CDA, but I have to believe it will happen when it's meant to be.  Right now JR will stay working for Lifeflight here and hopefully get on as a flight medic so that he can transfer to Sandpoint in the near future.
The third thing is that we have completely gutted our master bathroom.  We noticed a leak and so we decided now is as good of a time to remodel our master bathroom.  We are going on three weeks that we have been down to one bathroom!!!!
I enrolled Madison in preschool at the Challenger school for the fall.  She is doing great.  We are working on the whining and also no longer feeding her her food, but her being a big girl and feeding herself.  Colin is smiling and cooing. He has been sleeping in our room in his cradle and tonight will be the first night that we are trying to get him to sleep in his room.  I hope it goes well.

I feel like Aspen, Demon, and the house are completely neglected.  Right now it is all I can do just to stay up on the laundry and with that I still have clothes that sit in the basket for about a week before I get it put up.  I enjoy my job, but it's hard because I don't have time for anything else.  I don't know if it's just me or mother's guilt, but I just wish I could do it all, but there is no possible way to do it unless I didn't sleep at night and that's not a possibility.  To add to my guilt, Madison now asks me multiple times a day if I still love her....

Happy Belated Christmas and New Year

What a year 2012 has been already.  This is our first full week without company and I have already been tested as a mother again.  Madison ended up with the stomach flu this past Sunday (she threw up at least 17 times)  I honestly don't know what I would do if Aunt Mic weren't here.  I have started hypnosis for my fear of throwing up and I do think it helped, but not that many times. 
On a lighter note we had a nice very nice Christmas with my parents here and a Happy New Year with JR's Mom.  We had company for about two weeks and although it was wonderful I do have to say that we have grown out of our house.  Poor Dad and Tammi both had to sleep on the floor while Mom shared the bed with Madison who is a restless sleeper.

We had a wonderful Christmas at the McGee household.  Grandma and Grandpa were here to celebrate Christmas with us and then Grandma Tammi was here the week after Christmas till after the New Year.  We enjoyed the holidays with both families.  We sure are missing the snow here, but have enjoyed the sunshine instead of the Boise inversions.

Mommy Madison day

Madison and I have been butting heads.... a lot lately, so Mic suggested we have a girls day yesturday. So, Aunt Mic watched Colin for a couple hours and Madison and I went to the library and then got a coffee and hot chocolate and watched Arthur Christmas at the theater. I really enjoyed my time with Madison and I hope she enjoyed it also. It's the first time since we've had Colin that we have really had together just the two of us. Madison also helped me wrap presents and then helped Aunt Mic decorate Christmas cookies.

Two funny things Madison has said lately.

1. She asked me if she could help me wrap her gift. I told her she couldn't because she would see what she got and she told me it was ok because she'd close her eyes.

2. The mail lady came to the door today to drop off a package and Madison told JR someone was at the door. JR told Madison just to ignore it since he was in the bathroom. Well, like any three year old would do she listened to her Daddy and followed instructions explicitly. She goes to the window next to the door and tells the mail lady that she can't come to the door because her daddy is pooping!!!!

Colin is growing by leaps and bounds. He is more alert and is starting to smile and coo at us. He is such a delite and I'm trying to enjoy every moment I have with him, which is not enough.
